Our Motto:
"T
here is no limit when you prepare & train hard"

The Pan Am Diving Club had its early beginnings as part of a swimming program in Winnipeg called Manitoba Aquatics. The Pan Am Pool was built for the 1967 Pan American Games and became the home of most of the aquatic sports in 1968 including the Manitoba Aquatics.  During this time diving began to form its own association and under the leadership of Mr. Vaughn Baird diving broke away from the swimming association and became its own sport.

In 1972 Mr. Don Webb became Canada's first national diving coach and was positioned in Winnipeg.  The Pan Am Diving Club had its foundation from this group of national divers and after the 1972 Olympic Games the national team was decentralized and the Pan Am Diving Club was formed under retiring national team diver Nancy Robertson.

Nancy coached the club from 1972 - 1976. During this time the club was small but had a number of top divers performing at the National level.  When Nancy quit coaching in 1976 the club went through some darker times and many short term coaches.

In 1982 Mr. Jim Lambie moved from Toronto and took over the helm of the Pan Am Diving Club.  During the next eleven years the club became a major force in Canadian diving .  The team of Jennifer McArton, Deanne McClennaghan and Cathy Jacobson swept all events in the group A age group nationals. This was followed by full sweeps at the now defunct CIAU National University Championships. Jennifer McArton went on to win gold at the world age group championships as well as a silver at the Commonwealth Games and numerous senior national platform titles.

The most famous Pan Am Diver was Janet Nutter who won the Pan American Games on tower and the Commonwealth Games on three meter springboard.

In 1992 Jim Lambie retired from coaching and the club was coached by Mike Mourant a former club diver and Olympic Team member.  The club produced some top age group divers but did not enter the senior arena too often. In 1999 Jim Lambie has returned to the club as head coach with the motto that "there are no limits."

In 2002 / 2003 the club produced some incredible results led by Cam MacLean and Kevin Geyson. Cam won the Boy’s group C event at the National Age Group Championships and then a silver medal at the Pan Am Jr. Championships in Brazil. Kevin won a bronze in both the 1 meter event and the three meter event at the Senior National Championships and led the club to a 6th place finish in the Senior National Championships. With provincial team members Cam McLean, Kevin Geyson, Kristin Davies, Ashley Martin, Jill Gudmandson and Lauren Penko all returning this season 2004 should be one of the strongest competitive years to date.
